Commonly known as the turtle‑shell orchid due to its distinctive, broad, flattened, mottled pseudobulbs. Native to Mexico and Central America, this striking species produces impressive, branched sprays of large, bright yellow flower.
Grows best in bright, indirect light with intermediate to warm temperatures and high humidity. Water regularly during the active growing season. In winter, keep drier, watering only enough to prevent the pseudobulbs from shrivelling.
