Our beginnings
The spark that led to Orchid Obsession started in 2019. Cultivated during the COVID-19 lockdown, and finally flowering with the arrival of our first flasks in late 2020. We are a boutique orchid nursery supplying quality, well-established orchid seedlings imported from reputable international suppliers as well as selected divisions from our personal orchid collection. We specialise in sought-after species and hybrids.
About Michelle
It was a Laelia anceps, brought in April 1984, that started Michelle’s obsession with orchids. She still has this foundation plant … which has over the many years been joined by many other specimens. Michelle, like many others, fits her obsession around other competing commitments, and the collection has followed her around the country.
Michelle trained as a plant scientist, has a day job running a business in the primary sector and brings both of these skills to bring you healthy, well-established plants through Orchid Obsession.
About Peter
Peter is Orchid Obsession’s marketing advisor, IT solver, resident handyman and cook when Michelle is taking care of the orchid babies.
