A compact miniature species from Mexico, also known as Encyclia mariae.
The flowers are huge compared to the size of the plant - 5cm with green sepals and petals that are offset by a showy white lip with a greenish centre. Sweetly fragrant.
Grows best in intermediate conditions and bright diffuse light. Water regularly during summer and give it a dry winter rest with cooler conditions and brighter light. Does well mounted on tree-fern fibre or similar which allows it grow in its natural pendant habit and the roots dry quickly.
