The photo of the flower is for reference only. The other photo is an example of the size of the plant for sale (7 cm basket).
Note also that because this is a cross, all the plants will have slightly different flowers.
Originally described as Vandopsis parishii, it was reclassified as Phalaenopsis hygrochila in 2015.
Phal. hygrochila is native to Assam, China South-Central, East Himalaya, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam where it’s found growing in evergreen and semi-deciduous forests on limestone cliffs or in primary montane forests. Medium-sized and sturdy, it produces fragrant, heavy-textured and long-lasting flowers - yellowish-green with dramatic spotting and a rose-coloured lip.
Although it’s classified as a Phalaenopsis, it likes bright indirect light but otherwise similar conditions to Phalaenopsis - warm conditions, free draining mix and watered regularly throughout the year. Can be grown in baskets like Vandas.
