The photo of the flower is for reference only. The other photos are an example of the size of the plant for sale (4 cm pot).
Note also that because the seedling is from a cross, all the plants will have slightly different flowers.
Phal. bellina is native to Malaysia and Borneo where it grows in shady, humid, lowland and swampy riverine forests at elevations up to 200 meters.. Flowers are produced successively on a spike over many years. As the plant matures, it produces more and more active flower spikes so you can end up with a superb display of flowers from several years of flowering.
This is the sought after ‘coerulea’ (blue) form of the Phal. bellina that produces highly fragrant, waxy, star-shaped flowers in bluish-violet tones rather than magenta.
Grows best in warm conditions, medium/high humidity, medium shade and good air movement. Plants should be kept moist all year, watering to keep the roots damp but not soggy. Can be grown in pots or bare-rooted on a mount.
