Also known as the Beautiful Coelogyne, this particular subspecies (fimbriata) is native to Sumatera.
It’s a large-sized Coelogyne that produces musky-scented flowers that emerge from the centre of newly developing pseudobulbs and can flower at any time of the year. The large (5-8cm) flowers are pale salmon with a striking white lip adorned with dark brown spots and delicate fringes unique to the fimbriata form.
Give it intermediate to warm conditions, filtered light and plenty of air movement. Water well during active growth and keep on the drier side during winter (but don’t let it dry out completely).
